Happy Valentines Day

Cade and I spent yesterday afternoon making cookies and these cute little heart crayons to put in his treat bags for school.

Crayon Hearts

We soaked our selected crayons for for about 10-15 minutes in warm water. That helped some of the paper come off easier. However, we still had some issues with the paper on certain crayons. Guess who got to deal with those? But once the paper was off, we broke all the crayons and put them in silicone heart molds. Cade chose the colors he wanted to mix together. I put them in the oven for about 10 minutes. Oven temp was set at 320. Once they cooled, they popped right out.

Later I will be sharing a picture of Cade’s Valentines Box that we made. In our mad dash this morning I forgot to take a picture of it.

What fun things did you get to do for Valentines Day this year? I would love to hear how you celebrate with your kids.

What a cute idea! Those would be great for birthday party favors or any holiday. Love it! The kids and I had a Valentine’s party today. We made and exchanged Valentine cards, made Valentine cupcakes, read a couple of Valentine’s Day books including Roses Are Pink, And Your Feet Stink (so cute), and played games all day. Hope you had a great day! Happy Valentine’s Day!

I found some old-school metal lunch boxes at Old Navy (sale rack for $3.99), and I filled them with goodies (candy, books, toy dinosaurs, pens, and more!). I made them for my two boys, and for my two nieces. Added hand-made nametags, too. My boys also had school parties and came home lugging bags of sugar, Nana gave them the good stuff (chocolate), and we did family dinner out the night before Valentine’s Day. And now, I’m going for a run to burn off the sweets I’ve been sneaking.
