Well hello February! Northeast Ohio is getting hit with freezing rain, sleet, and possibly some snow. Mr. Weatherman is saying we will have 4 to 8 hours of freezing rain tonight. I understand Chicago is getting blasted with a blizzard. I would much rather have blizzard conditions than have to deal with this ice.
Earlier today I made a big pot of potato soup and wanted to share with my neighbor. About 10 minutes ago I bundled up and laced up my boots and headed out the door. Well, it just wasn’t happening. There was a thick sheet of ice on the cement. Even walking on the snow was a challenge. I thought I would give it a try, I walked to the end of my garage but I knew I would end up on my rear if I tried to walk through the yard. As I stood outside looking out over my icy wonderland, I could hear the tree branches, that were encased in ice, cracking and popping. It sure is beautiful to look at but definitely not to drive in. I’m just hoping the electric stays on. With the amount of ice we are supposed to get and the winds getting up to 25 -30 mph, power lines and trees are sure to fall.
What’s happening in your neck of the woods? Any weather stories you wish to share?
