I finally broke down and am making my own laundry detergent. As I said in a previous post, I am a die-hard Purex fan. I have used Purex for more than 10 years. A friend and I found this recipe on Pinterest. Oh, what did we do before Pinterest? My friend tried it first and loves it. Now it’s my turn. As I’m typing this, I have my first load in the washer with the new laundry detergent. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

I spent about $8.38 for the first batch. I also had to buy a container which cost me about $7.50. I’m keeping track of how many loads I can do so I can compare it to my other detergent.
